I spent ten days traveling with Chris and Alex Roman, friends from the US. We started in Lisbon and then went to Lagos, Seville, Granada and ended in Madrid. I’m too lazy to recount everything, but here are highlights and lowlights:
Highlights:
– The first dinner that we did in Lisbon was the first real restaurant meal I had in weeks, and it was amazing
– Chris bringing me my makeup bag that I had left at my parent’s house
– Climbing the cliffs in Lagos
– The seafood stew we had in Lagos at this adorable hole in the wall restaurant
– Having my own bedroom in our airbnbs throughout the trip after spending three weeks in hostel dorms
– The sunset at the cool modern structure thing in Seville
– The best mojito I’ve ever had in Granad
– The sunset over the Alhambra
Lowlights:
– That time I got stuck sitting in the middle seat between the two (very broad shouldered) Romans in a BlaBla car with no AC
– That time that the three hour drive to Lagos took six hours, again without AC
Lessons Learned:
– Spend more time in fewer destinations
– Ask the BlaBla car driver if they’re sitting someone in the middle seat in the back seat before you accept the ride
– Don’t put your GoPro down in weird places
– My vocabulary needs some work
– Tapas doesn’t mean free
Food I ate:
– Everything
